About OK4UK Capital

Independent by design.
Ambitious by nature.

Established in 2011, OK4UK is a privately owned venture capital investor and company-building platform. We use our own capital, operating experience and a long-term perspective to help useful ideas become enduring businesses.

01 / Ownership

Private capital · long horizon

Five investors.
One shared conviction.

OK4UK stands behind five private investors. Founder and principal Nick Boldorea leads the group; the other four investors choose to remain private. That independence allows decisions to be made with patience, discretion and a permanent-owner mindset—not around a conventional fund cycle.

02 / Our thesis

Patient capital. Practical experience. Long-term conviction.

We invest where our operating experience can create an unfair advantage: complex sectors ready for clearer systems, better technology and stronger human outcomes. We are not driven by short fund cycles. We are building a permanent portfolio with the freedom to think in decades.

03 / How we work

01

Conviction over consensus

We invest where we understand the problem and believe deeply in the solution.

02

Operators alongside founders

Strategy matters, but execution builds companies. We stay close to the work.

03

Permanent perspective

Private ownership gives us the freedom to compound patiently and decide for the next decade.

04

Connected advantage

Companies across the group share ideas, capabilities, technology and relationships.

One team · many perspectives

Distributed by geography.
United by the work.

Our team works across borders and disciplines. Ivan, Head of Design, is based in Indonesia, with trusted partners and collaborators in Singapore, Poland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. This distributed model gives every venture access to broader cultural insight and specialist skill while preserving one clear standard.

Nick Boldorea

A life shaped by
building and rebuilding.

Nick began as a student entrepreneur in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, combining study at the University of Art and Design with a car-customisation company, an internet service business, web design and early bug-bounty security research. A two-week UK business trip in 2011 became a life-changing move; fifteen years later, the United Kingdom remains home.

In Britain, he carried his technical and root-cause mindset from frontline construction work into progressively senior management, while continuing his interest in cybersecurity, invention and technology. A period without a permanent home in 2016 became another formative test of resilience.

In 2020, Nick completed a connected motorcycle-jacket prototype designed to mirror vehicle lighting, support location and crash alerts, regulate temperature, and integrate sensors and video. That same night, a serious road collision left him unable to walk for around six months. The speed of London’s emergency response and the long recovery that followed sharpened his conviction that awareness, education and better systems can change outcomes.

Today Nick works in higher education and continues to explore AI, cybersecurity and practical technology. OK4UK has grown through ventures created internally and selective external investments—made possible by a global team that has stayed together through the difficult chapters as well as the successes.
